The Transformers franchise has grossed more than $3.7 billion worldwide. So you and I and all rational thinking people might believe they’re terrible, but from a financial perspective, they’re definitely working. But you know that old expression in Hollywood: If it ain’t broke, break it into its component parts, and then turn each of those component parts into its own spinoff franchise to maximize revenue. I think Thomas Edison is the first guy who said that one.

‘Star Wars Rebels’ Taps ‘Rogue One’ Screenwriter Gary Whitta for an Episode
We’ve yet to see how well Star Wars can expand crossovers of its cinematic universe beyond the upcoming films, but we may yet see TV’s Rebels interacting with its big screen brethren. Original Rogue One spinoff writer Gary Whitta has confirmed writing an upcoming Rebels episode, which could well establish some connective tissue with the larger universe.
A ‘League of Extraordinary Gentlemen’ Reboot Is in the Works
Now that Universal is rebooting their classic monsters franchises with a new expanded universe plan, 20th Century Fox wants to get in on a little of that action with a similarly-flavored reboot of their own: The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel, which features various characters from classic works of literature by authors like Bram Stoker, Robert Louis Stevenson, Mark Twain and more.

‘Batman vs. Superman’ Will Embrace Wonder Woman’s Long, Long History
It’s no secret that Hollywood has a hard time embracing older women, but there’s one who will never have to struggle to get work: Wonder Woman. The immortal superhero has been alive for centuries, and in case you were worried that the new Warner Bros. iteration of the character would try to make her more human, you needn’t worry anymore.
Heroic Hollywood delivered the latest Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice rumor, which reveals that the new WB and DC film will embrace Wonder Woman’s age.
