‘Lethal Weapon’ the Latest Movie to Become a TV Show


Another day, another classic film gets a TV reboot. (Sadly, I’ve written a variation of that sentence more than a few times this year.)
Since Lethal WeaponLethal Weapon 2Lethal Weapon 3 and Lethal Weapon 4 were seemingly not enough, a new series based on the original 1987 action movie starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover is in the works at Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The reboot is being developed by Warner Bros. TV for the network and will be written by Matt Miller ("Forever"). The put-pilot is sticking so close to the source material that it's not even changing the character names. Here’s the official logline, via Entertainment Weekly:

‘Pacific Rim 2’: Guillermo del Toro Wants to Put a ‘Game of Thrones’ Star in a Jaeger


Persistent rumors have suggested that Universal is no longer planning on delivering Pacific Rim 2, but that hasn’t stopped Guillermo del Toro from talking about his plans for the (possibly?) upcoming sequel. Although the film has been removed from the studio’s release calendar, del Toro is still trying to work things out, and he has at least one popular actor he’d like to cast.

‘Power Rangers’ Reboot Starts Assembling a Group of New Rangers


Yes, the Power Rangers reboot is still happening, and to prove it Lionsgate has begun eyeing a fresh group of new, young actors to fill those spandex power-suits. Director Dean Israelite and the studio have begun testing a handful of actors for the roles of the teenage heroes who will battle monsters in the latest incarnation of the classic series.

Game of Thrones fans are no stranger to scrutinizing production and trafficking wild rumors, and HBO itself has discussed the possibility of a big-screen closer to its George R.R.
