Boy, has Game of Thrones Season 6 had a rough day keeping things under wraps. At long last, photographic evidence has surfaced from the Ireland set, confirming what we’ve all known about our favorite fallen Night’s Watchman for months. Oh yes, ladies and gentlemen. Jon. Snow. LIVES.
Take whichever grains of salt you wish with this latest revelation, but where conflicting accounts have raged for months of Kit Harington’s Season 6 fate, a new set photo has finally emerged to confirm Jon Snow (or is that Stark?) suited up for battle. We’ve known for months that the actor maintained at least some presence in Belfast, but never more clearly has Jon Snow’s survival been seen:
The Daily Mail has additional photos, while WinterIsComing also notes that we can spot “Hardhome” director Miguel Sapochnik on set giving direction as well. Recent rumors have suggested Jon Snow would participate in a massive battle, comprised of Boltons, Umbers and many more, ostensibly the largest shoot in the series’ history.
Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant and The Babadook star Essie Davis as theatre troup players, four notable actors as the Tarly family, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk as fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, Of Monsters and Men will put in a cameo, and story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year.
HBO is still celebrating Game of Thrones Season 5's Emmy wins, but has Jon Snow’s fate finally been put to rest? Can we expect more official confirmation before 2016?
