Even through the character’s first appearance, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new monster big bad Lash kept largely to the shadows before scampering off. Now, with our gnarly Inhuman friend set to show his ugly mug in tomorrow’s “Devils You Know,” Marvel offers a much more up-close look at the monstrosity that is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Lash.
Access Hollywood scored the first up-close photos of Dexter alum Matthew Willig suited up as Lash, looking a bit spinier in the forehead than some of his comic depictions (and sadly lacking the red eyes), but reasonably imposing nonetheless. We’ll learn more about the big lug’s motivations over time, though we can at least applaud Agents’ increasing confidence with make-up work, following Raina’s transformation last year.
So reads Marvel’s official press release for Tuesday’s “Devils You Know”:
S.H.I.E.L.D. RELUCTANTLY TEAMS UP WITH THEIR RIVALS AS THEY HUNT FOR INHUMANS, ON “MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.”“Devils You Know” – Having reluctantly agreed to share information with Rosalind and the ATCU, Coulson and the team go in search for the Inhuman who is killing off other Inhumans, and May feels that Hunter’s mission to take down Ward is getting too personal, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.Guest starring are Blair Underwood as Andrew Garner, Constance Zimmer as Rosalind Price, Matthew Willig as Lash, Daz Crawford as Kebo, Andrew Howard as Banks, Spencer Treat Clark as Alexander, Alicia Vela-Bailey as Alisha, Alexi Wasser as Lori, Nick Eversman as Shane and Chad Lindberg as Dwight Frye.
Thus far, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 has added Constance Zimmer as a new foil for Coulson, also setting Powers Boothe to reprise his Avengers role as a member of the World Security Council. The series will presumably also help build up to Captain America: Civil War, while installing its own version of Marvel’s Secret Warriors, and setting up a Marvel’s Most Wanted spinoff for Hunter and Bobbi.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will premiere “Devils You Know” tomorrow, but what should we make of Lash up close? Whose side might he really be on?
