The 42-week wait in between Game of Thrones Seasons has been torturous enough, but even after its most hotly-contested cliffhanger yet, Game of Thrones Season 6 may put us through another agonizing month. A new realization about the HBO 2016 schedule could push Game of Thrones’ next premiere to May, rather than the April start we’ve grown accustomed to.

‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Will Be a Buddy Movie in Which the Buddies Fight
Just a couple of days after he shared his hopes for an on-screen meeting between Bruce Banner and his alter-ego the Hulk, Mark Ruffalo is talking about Thor: Ragnarok again, this time hinting that it’s a buddy team-up movie and that we’ll probably see those buddies fighting — again.
‘Power Rangers’ Movie Reportedly Gets an Interesting Title, New Character Details
While we previously assumed that the new Power Rangers movie would be a reboot, a new report suggests that’s not quite accurate. In addition to providing a few new details and character names, the latest on the upcoming Power Rangers film reveals a very…interesting…choice of title for the risky big budget project.

Big Beach Films Rolls the Dice on a Monopoly Origins Film
Between X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Richard Dawkins biopic I Origins, Leprechaun: Origins, and the upcoming films Robin Hood: Origins and Jungle Book: Origins, the Origins Connected Cinematic Universe is the strangest naturally occurring phenomenon in the present-day world of cinema. The viewing public simply cannot get enough backstory, and the persistent need to know how everything began is only going to proliferate in the years to come.
‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer Reportedly to Debut in Theaters With ‘Spectre’
Now that we’ve all thoroughly dissected the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, it’s time to remind you that Disney has yet another massive trailer on the way that you’re going to get yourself all hot and bothered over. Marvel has a habit of debuting their first trailers in October, which means that, yes, the Captain America: Civil War trailer is almost upon us. In fact, according to a new report, it will be in theaters with Spectre and online even sooner.

Matthew McConaughey to Host SNL in November With Adele
Elizabeth Banks will offer an alright SNL palate cleanser for Donald Trump when the NBC sketch series returns in November, but its third host of the month deserves a hearty “alright, alright, alright.” Matthew McConaughey will make a surprising return to the SNL stage, bringing the big guns with Adele as musical guest.
New HBO NOW Releases: November 2015
Things are about to get kinky on HBO NOW for the month of November. Fifty Shades of Grey arrives on HBO’s new streaming service on November 21, in both rated and unrated cuts. (My sources tell me the unrated version contains at least six additional shades of Grey!) Other new movies include the awesome spy pastiche Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Liam Neeson’s latest action vehicle, Run All Night.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ Star Daniel Bruhl Teases a Twist on the Villainous Baron Zemo
The Avengers will be forced to choose sides in the battle between Captain America and Iron Man in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, and while friends will become enemies in the epic showdown, there will be an actual villain in the mix: Daniel Bruhl is portraying Baron Zemo, the Nazi-era baddie from the Marvel comics, but the actor says directors Joe and Anthony Russo are putting a bit of an unexpected spin (or two) on his character to freshen him up for his big screen debut.
‘Ant-Man’ Director Peyton Reed in Talks to Return for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’
Just a couple of weeks ago Marvel readjusted their upcoming slate of films, shifting the release dates of Black Panther and Captain Marvel to allow room for Ant-Man and the Wasp, the official sequel to this year’s Ant-Man. It seemed a bit obvious that director Peyton Reed would return (especially when he tweeted about the sequel), though Marvel hasn’t made anything official until today.

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Reveals Inhuman-ly Detailed Look at Marvel’s Lash
Even through the character’s first appearance, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s new monster big bad Lash kept largely to the shadows before scampering off. Now, with our gnarly Inhuman friend set to show his ugly mug in tomorrow’s “Devils You Know,” Marvel offers a much more up-close look at the monstrosity that is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Lash.
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Tickets Already Being Sold on eBay at Insane Prices
Well, that did not take long at all. While movie ticketing and theater websites are struggling to remain running (if they are at all, and as of now, many are not), some lucky fans have already snagged more than enough tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and are selling their extras on eBay — at prices that would only be reasonable to a mentally insane person. And yet, someone will buy these. Someone will spend over $400 on Star Wars tickets. What a world.

An ‘Anabelle’ Sequel Is in the Works, in Case You Weren’t Scared Enough the First Time
The Annabelle doll was one of the highlights of The Conjuring, and like a lot of standout characters in other movies, she received her very own spinoff / prequel, which will now have its very own sequel, feeding the never ending cycle of sequels / prequels / spinoffs. In any case, there will be a second Annabelle movie because you people are apparently delighted by your own fear of dolls.
Inspired by Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper Will Now Share His Wage Info With Female Co-Stars
Jennifer Lawrence made headlines this past week (as she usually does, for many delightful reasons) for penning an essay in Lena Dunham’s Lenny newsletter about the gender wage gap in Hollywood. Lawrence wasn’t the first (nor will she be the last) to speak up about the disparity, and she received vocal support from a handful of actors, including her American Hustle co-star Bradley Cooper. Cooper isn’t content to just talk about the problem — he’s actually trying to do something about it.

‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Sets Powers Boothe to Reprise ‘Avengers’ Role
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has increasingly weaved its own threads against the larger backdrop of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but its latest Season 3 addition brings with it a major Avengers tie. Powers Boothe will lend his particular brand of menace to a recurring Agents role this season, fleshing out his mysterious figure from the 2012 film.
‘Legion’ Boss Talks Role in ‘X-Men’ Cinematic Universe
Minds behind the live-action X-Men universe surprised us all with the announcement of not one, but two distinct series based on characters from the mutant universe, but somewhat unclear was their relationship to the films. Now, Legion and Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley offers a bit of clarification, seemingly distancing all three branches of the X-Men properties.

MGM Reviving ‘WarGames’ as an Experimental Interactive Short Film
There’s been talk of a WarGames remake for some time now — Seth Gordon was attached to direct before he signed on for the forever-developing Uncharted movie, and last we heard Project Almanac director Dean Israelite was attached. For now, it seems like MGM isn’t in a rush to revive the 1983 classic, at least not in the way you might expect. Instead, the studio is bringing WarGames back as an interactive short film / game.
‘Z-Men’ Zombie Graphic Novel Adaptation in the Works
Zombies are here to stay thanks in large part to the continued success of The Walking Dead (and its recent spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead), and if you’re a fan of the graphic novel Z-Men or of all things zombie, you’ll be thrilled to know that Lionsgate is developing a film based on the new comic series.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Will Be Longer Than the Other ‘X-Men’ Films
X-Men: Apocalypse isn’t just the conclusion of the recent trilogy kicked off by First Class; it’s basically the conclusion of six X-Men films, which began in 2000 with Bryan Singer’s first X-Men movie, and comes full circle with Singer’s Apocalypse, hitting theaters next spring. As such, the director says that we can probably expect a longer runtime for the new sequel, while also warning of potential spoilers in the forthcoming trailer.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’: Zoe Saldana Confirms Benicio Del Toro’s Return
Back in June, Benicio Del Toro didn’t seem too certain of his future in the MCU. While the actor said he’d love to keep developing his eccentric role as The Collector, he wasn’t sure if there was a place for him in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. As it turns out, there is, and his co-star Zoe Saldana has just confirmed it.
Will Smith Confirms ‘Bad Boys 3’ Is Happening Very Soon
Back in June we learned that Joe Carnahan (The Grey) is interested in directing Bad Boys 3, and in August it was reported that Sony had officially put the long-awaited sequel on their release calendar for 2017 (along with a spot for Bad Boys 4 in 2019). Not much else has been reported about the third installment in the franchise, but Will Smith himself has officially confirmed that we’ll be seeing Bad Boys 3 very soon.

‘Batman vs Superman’ Introduces You to Vegan Genius Lex Luthor in New Viral Marketing
Jesse Eisenberg’s casting as Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice raised more than a few eyebrows — Eisenberg is typically known for playing nebbish, fidgety characters, but if the trailers for Batman v Superman are any indication, it looks as though Zack Snyder put those qualities to interesting use, giving us a Lex Luthor unlike any we’ve seen before. If you’re curious to know more about Eisenberg’s Luthor, this latest piece of viral marketing sheds some light on what Snyder and Eisenberg are doing with the notorious Superman baddie.
‘Black Panther’ Solo Film Taps Screenwriter Joe Robert Cole
Amid all the fuss yesterday over the director shortlist for Furious 8 was a tiny news item you might have missed: Marvel was reportedly considering F. Gary Gray to direct Black Panther, but with the Straight Outta Compton director emerging as the top pick for Furious 8, that’s probably not happening. But we do have some legit Black Panther-related news, as Marvel has tapped one of their in-house writers for scripting duties.

New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy Confirmed to Continue the Skywalker Family Saga
Yes, we’ve known for a while that Luke, Leia and Han (and Chewie, and R2, and C-3PO) figure into Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and that it’s very likely that one of the new cast members is a part of the Skywalker family. But it’s been unclear if the rest of the trilogy will continue the Skywalker story or pass the legacy on to another heroic character. According to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, we can expect all three of the new films to be Skywalker-centric.

‘Lethal Weapon’ the Latest Movie to Become a TV Show
Another day, another classic film gets a TV reboot. (Sadly, I’ve written a variation of that sentence more than a few times this year.)
Since Lethal Weapon, Lethal Weapon 2, Lethal Weapon 3 and Lethal Weapon 4 were seemingly not enough, a new series based on the original 1987 action movie starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover is in the works at Fox, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The reboot is being developed by Warner Bros. TV for the network and will be written by Matt Miller ("Forever"). The put-pilot is sticking so close to the source material that it's not even changing the character names. Here’s the official logline, via Entertainment Weekly:
‘Pacific Rim 2’: Guillermo del Toro Wants to Put a ‘Game of Thrones’ Star in a Jaeger
Persistent rumors have suggested that Universal is no longer planning on delivering Pacific Rim 2, but that hasn’t stopped Guillermo del Toro from talking about his plans for the (possibly?) upcoming sequel. Although the film has been removed from the studio’s release calendar, del Toro is still trying to work things out, and he has at least one popular actor he’d like to cast.
‘Power Rangers’ Reboot Starts Assembling a Group of New Rangers
Yes, the Power Rangers reboot is still happening, and to prove it Lionsgate has begun eyeing a fresh group of new, young actors to fill those spandex power-suits. Director Dean Israelite and the studio have begun testing a handful of actors for the roles of the teenage heroes who will battle monsters in the latest incarnation of the classic series.

Game of Thrones fans are no stranger to scrutinizing production and trafficking wild rumors, and HBO itself has discussed the possibility of a big-screen closer to its George R.R. Martin adaptation, but don’t start lining up just yet. Martin himself debunked the latest rumor, at least for the time being.
